Sustainable Investment Policy
Sabancı University manages its financial resources and investment decisions in line with its principle of responsibility and its sustainability vision. This policy applies to investment-related decisions made by all academic and administrative units. Through this policy, Sabancı University commits to;
- Considering environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria alongside financial risk and return assessments in investment decisions, and aligning such decisions with its sustainability goals;
- Promoting ethical and responsible investment practices and, in this context, avoiding direct investments in companies associated with human rights violations, discriminatory practices or labour exploitation;
- Evaluating direct renewable energy power purchase agreements and similar investment opportunities to meet the campus’s energy needs from renewable sources;
- Encouraging investments that support social well-being;
- Avoiding investments that disregard environmental and social impacts; and
- Ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of the University’s resources.
